Probably the shortest and most pointless film reviews ever but here they are anyway..
Toy Story 3
So emotional! Quite sad it’s over, but it went out on a high. I especially enjoyed Mr.Pricklepants, voiced by Timothy Dalton.
Incredible. Plus everyone looks delicious in it. It made me have weird architectural dreams..
The Darjeeling Limited
It seems a Wes Anderson film will always be a goodun. Everything about this is stunning. I wish everything looked like a Wes Anderson film.
I really like bunting and recently decided to make some to brighten up my boring room. I still haven’t really done anything to it since moving in in November and it’s pretty boring compared to my old room with its stripey wall! The bunting makes it a bit brighter, and a bit more me! Now I need to get frames for my Flight of the Conchords and Javier Mariscal posters and it will look much better! Making the bunting was much more stressful and time consuming than I imagined and I made a few mistakes along the way. If you look closely it’s a bit messy, but standing back it looks quite pretty! I used some old Laura Ashley fabric that my mum must have bought when she was about my age, if not younger and some floral fabric which I think was also hers. I used bias binding for the pink ribbon, which was a good move, but I wish it wasn’t so see-through! These photos also make me think that I need to repaint the walls..
Not bad for a first attempt I hope…. Next I want to make some letter bunting, spelling out a word or a sentence, kind of like this:
Design Sponge runs a great ‘sneak peak’ feature in which you can have a nose into the houses of talented folk including graphic designers and photographers. There are so many lovely interiors to sit and stare at and be inspired. It makes me want to buy a big house right away just so that I can decorate it! It might be time to get the doll’s house out of the shed….
One of my favourites is Danielle Deboe’s beautiful home. Danielle is a former furniture and home accessories buyer as well as former visual manager for anthropologie, which is evident when you look at how beautifully presented her home is. What isn’t so obvious though is that when these photos were taken she had only recently moved in and has lives in 8 places in 7 years…
I love her use of colour and her vintage furniture and accessories mixed with contemporary pieces. See all of the photos here.
I also now really want the cuckoo clock by Pascal Tarabay seen in the first photo. I have always loved cuckoo clocks and has a real Swiss one when I was younger that I loved. My first word was even ‘cuckoo’! This is a really nice modern take on a traditional piece.
cuckoo clock available from unica home.
I really like this series of hand drawn letters by Teagan White. The whole thing just fits together so nicely.
Plus I have a bit of a thing for luggage tags….
